The Sun Inn is a family run pub situated in the beautiful Corvedale between the picturesque town of Ludlow and equally historic towns of Bridgenorth and Much Wenlock.
It was first licensed in 1613 and the Pearce family have been there since 1984.
The food that has made the pub famous locally is prepared and cooked on the premises by landlady Teresa Pearce using local produce, for example, our eggs come from our own free range chickens. All meals are served with a selection of up to six fresh vegetables and a choice of chips, new potatoes or rice. The majority of the meals are priced at around £6. All children's meals are under £2. Some adult meals may be halved to make a child's meal. There is also a large vegetarian menu.
When it comes to food, our goals are a satisfied appetite and value for money.
The Sun Inn also boasts its own brewery (The Corvedale Brewery) to the rear of the premises, viewings of the brewery are available on request. Our home brewed beers are available at the bar and have proved very popular with tourists and locals alike. We are Shropshire's newest and fastest growing small brewery. The Corvedale Brewery's part of the site can be found here. We will also be keeping you all up to date with our latest brews and price list.
There are three main areas to the pub, the quiet lounge bar and restaurant (we have a strict no smoking policy in the restaurant area) or you may prefer the public bar where you can play pool or darts as you listen to the juke box.
Coach parties are easily catered for and being situated in the Corvedale we have proved very popular with walkers and cyclists. Over the past few years we have done extensive renovations to enable wheelchair access to all areas including disabled toilets. We have a large garden with a mini obstacle course and swings for the children. Our large car park easily accommodates coaches so unlike other pubs in the area parking is never a problem. A map of the local area and directions to the pub can be found by clicking the link below or you could visit our listing in the A.A. guide
The editor of Ale Around The Wreckin said about us:If ever there was a deserved Good Beer Guide entry, this is one of them. The friendly bar staff will make you feel very welcome and meals are available at lunchtimes and evenings. You can eat in the bar area or restaurant, both beautifully decorated. The 17th century pub has awards for disabled facilities, and serving its own brewed beer, this is one drinkery you’d be mad to miss for a great meal out this winter. But watch out for the enormous servings of food!
